Kenny Miller is hopeful Rangers have done enough to convince Joey Barton to sign for them this summer. The duo shared the fairways on a golf day at Loch Lomond on Sunday and Miller confirmed Barton had inundated him with questions about Rangers, who will be a Scottish Premiership side next season after winning the Championship. The 33-year-old midfielder is in talks with Gers over a three-year contract and also visited the clubs Murray Park training ground over the weekend. Barton was reportedly offered a one-year extension at Burnley after helping them win the Sky Bet Championship but is keen on a longer deal.Miller thinks he would be an excellent signing for Mark Warburtons side and feels it would be a massive coup if the former England international could be tempted to Ibrox. We were at a golf day and it was just a coincidence that he was there as well, Miller told Sky Sports News HQ.It was a great day for it and we had a good chat on the way around. Its no secret that the club are trying to persuade him to come to the club and hopefully weve done enough. Barton (centre) leaves Ibrox with Rangers assistant manager David Weir The manager has never talked down the size of the job here and the size of the club so it would be a big thing if we could bring a player of that quality to this football club.Hes at the stage of his career where he has the potential to play Premier League football and if we can get that signing over the line, it would be a massive coup for the club. He seemed genuinely interested and keen to know what the club was about. He knows the size of Rangers but he seemed interested in the subtle things about the club too. The 21-year-olds inclusion on the blindside flank sees John Barclay move to No 8 with Hamish Watson returning to the openside and Ryan Wilson selected on the bench.Edinburgh Rugby lock Grant Gilchrist, who captained Scotland to victory over the Pumas in Cordoba two years ago, and Glasgow Warriors hooker Fraser Brown are promoted from the bench in place of the injured Richie Gray (suspected concussion) and Ross Ford, who is named among the replacements. They will pack down with returning tight-five forwards Zander Fagerson, last weeks debutant Allan Dell, and try-scoring lock Jonny Gray. Scotland were narrowly beaten by Australia last weekend The return of wing Tommy Seymour is the only change to the back division, meaning two-time try-scorer Huw Jones and centre partner Alex Dunbar return, while half-backs Greig Laidlaw and Finn Russell, and Stuart Hogg and Sean Maitland are also reinstated. Two further personnel changes appear on the bench with prop Alex Allan and lock Tim Swinson coming in for Gordon Reid and the promoted Gilchrist. Richie Gray (white) forced to sit out visit of Argentina at Murrayfield Reflecting on his reshuffle in the wake of last weeks heartbreaking 23-22 defeat to Australia, Cotter said: Every week we want to improve. We did a lot of good things against Australia, we scored three tries to their two, we were aggressive in attack and our defence held strong for the most part.ddddddddddddWhile its disappointing we didnt walk off with the win, Im proud of the courage the players showed and the way they adapted to changes on the paddock due to injuries. Tommy Seymour back in Scotland team to face Argentina Saturdays game is going to be a different challenge for us, both physically and mentally, against a very dangerous Argentina side. They have the capacity to vary their game so we have to be prepared for whatever approach they take, though we can expect them to look to dominate the set piece as a starting point, be very explosive around the rucks and look to get their offloading game up and running. We will have to be disciplined and make sure we capitalise on every opportunity we create.
